to Drought Affected Communities in five Woredas of Borena Zone 

Description

The project involves the rehabilitation of non-functional water systems, the transport of water, the promotion of hygiene and sanitation and the distribution of chemicals for water treatment to the communities affected by the drought of Dhas, Dillo, Miyo, Moyale and Gomole in the area of Borena, Ethiopia.

The project reaches around 70,000 beneficiaries (over 35,000 women), including 4000+ internally displaced persons and 6000+ people with disabilities.

OBJECTIVES

Alleviate acute water shortages in the drought-affected population and the loss of livestock in the affected area through a rapid WASH (water, sanitation and hygene) response and improve the ability of the community to manage a sustainable water system.
