Since 1982 CISP has been working toward promoting the sustainable development of poor counties and communities throughout the world, through solidarity programs and by confronting emergency situations. In order to carry out these programmes, the strong support of citizens in developed countries is vital.

One of CISP's aims is to actively promote solidarity in Italian society toward the poorer and more disadvantaged areas and communities of the world.

Solidarity in action signifies a solid and active commitment based on knowledge and sharing.

Solidarity in action also signifies an alternative way of being a citizen of this world that is continuously suffering from injustice and inequality.
